Choose From 1 of 2 Stucco Remediation Options

Sole Coat System

Sole Coat Stucco System

  • The 1-coat system consists of paper, foam backing, wire and two coats of exterior stucco

  • Styrofoam is used in place of a "scratch coat", typically used in a 3-phase system

  • The cement used in a 1-phase system is a bout 3/8 of a inch thick and is reinforced with fiberglass particles

  • The 1 coat system process consists of:

    • Paper & foam backing installation

    • Wire installation

    • Base coat application

    • Topped off with finish coat

      • The finish coat is not considered a step because it is needed on every type of application that is used, so they are mainly referring to the stages up until the finish coat

Tri-Coat System

Tri-Coat Stucco System

  • Most common style of stucco repair/treatment used, especially with today's modern day homes

  • The three coat system typically consists of paper and wire, a scratch coat, a brown coat and a finish, or “top” coat. This is why it is called a three coat system, lath, scratch and brown.

  • Highly water resistant

  • Very structurally sound

  • The 3 coat system process consists of:

    • Lath application

    • Scratch coat application

    • Brown coat application

    • Topped off with finish coat

      • The finish coat is not considered a step because it is needed on every type of application that is used, so they are mainly referring to the stages up until the finish coat
